Hermano, it means brother.

Cimarron had spirit week last week. Somehow, one of the dress up days was gangster day. While we tried to remain politically correct and dress Karmen as a mob gangster, we couldn't come up with one for Manuel as well. Hence, our gangster boy. Crazily enough, kids showed up at school with painted skin. I can't believe it. Jake gave Manuel the tattoo and we then told him that it means brother. Unfortunately, we never told him what the spanish word was so everyone asked him all day and he had no clue. We do try to teach our kids about their heritage!!!! Anyways, here are the pics of Manuel, the bus came before we could catch Karmen.

You Do What You Have To Do!

Well, I am definitely in the final stretch. With just over two weeks until due date, we are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new little one. This never happened with Gage, but I think my nesting instinct kicked in about a week ago. I've been busy trying to get things ready. I've rearranged furniture (with help of course), washed tons of clothes, gathered all the lone socks in hopes of finding their mate, and I'm excited to steam clean the carpets this weekend while the kids are around to help. Knowing that we'll be packing up soon, I've also had a mass exodus to the dumpster across the street. Shhh, don't tell the kids. Anyways, I am getting less and less able to do the things that I need to do and so I've decided use the resources around me. Now, some people might call this child labor, I think it's simply instilling a good work ethic in my child!

Little Drummer Boy

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Now, if you saw our pictures at Halloween you may think that our dressing Gage as a drummer was just a cute idea. The reality of the situation is that Gage loves drums. He has since in utero! So, Manuel and Karmen thought that a drum set would be a great idea as a Christmas present. Me, being somewhat in the "whatever, I don't care" stage of life (pregnancy does that to you) and knowing Gage's passion, agreed. He loves his drum set and I never realized it could be so multi-functional. He actually plays the drums, he plays peek-a-boo in the bass drum, and he uses it as a storage bin for his blocks, balls, and whatever small thing will fit in the bass drum. So, just wanted to share some of our budding percussionist...

Scared of a Balloon

Gage insisted on having this balloon while we were out to eat. He wasn't such a big fan of it once it got up close
