The art of entertaining

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

I'm stealing this idea from another blog but everything else in it is original!

Here's what I learned last week:

*3 month olds really don't enjoy hiking as much as everyone else.

*Memorizing books is a great way to entertain the entire family at the end of really long car rides.  It especially helps if each of the characters have their own special voice.  (a good choice is Barnyard Hullabaloo)

*Never sell stuff to Once Upon a Child (sorry, OUAC) because they really rip you off-use Craig's list-unless you are getting a trade for a really awesome stroller that you've always wanted.  You'll also feel better about getting ripped off if everyone comments on your awesome stroller whereever you go and you realize it was totally worth it.

*Washingtonians think 80 degree weather is scorching!  I love it here!

*Three month old's spit bubbles can also entertain the entire family

*finding a good church is a lot harder than it looks and might require you to drive a lot further than you thought you'd need to.

*having a brand new house takes on a whole new meaning when you have six people living in it.  These brand new carpets have already had numerous cups of water spilt on them, they have been peed on, spit up on, and have also seen spaghetti, crab, eraser shavings, lots of cheerios, and grease.  and that was just in one week.

What did you learn this week?

The thrift store on base is really good to sell little stuff like clothes, but craigslist is better for big stuff.

Thanks Kiki,
I'll keep that in mind, although the thrift store here is a little scary looking!
